Searching for the Pretteh

148 grams/185 yards

BFL, silk, bamboo, merino, angelina, shetland.

This blend of all-but-the-kitchen-sink-carded had me spinning for those few moments when, in the ply, the perfect combination of colours crossed each other.  The two ply wasn’t terribly exciting, but the search for the moments of lovely colour made it a worthwhile quest.  This is spun specifically for a simple weaving project.

Playing with 3-ply

A Fine Burgundy

3 Ply BFL as follows:

  • 1 ply humbug BFL undyed
  • 1 ply humbug overdyed burgundy
  • 1 ply burgundy

105 grams

I have been fascinated with 3 plies lately and how to make them sing. Harmonizing colours in a bouncy round yarn is really accomplishing this for me.
